Hey there, fellow beach lovers and interior design enthusiasts! Today, I’m spilling the sandy secrets of infusing that blissful coastal vibe into your home using a few coastal color palettes. Consider transforming your space into a modern seaside haven perfect for unwinding after a long day or hosting laid-back gatherings.

Let’s dive in! All the suggested beach house paint colors are by Sherwin-Williams.

Neutral Nirvana

Let’s start with the classics. Neutral tones form the backbone of any coastal-inspired space. Think soft sands, driftwood, and sun-bleached seashells. Think creamy whites to warm taupes.

Here are some of my go-to paint colors that give you the feeling of white walls:

Walls that read white: 7103 Whitetail or 7551 Greek Villa
Coordinating Trim: 7005 Pure White or go slightly creamier with 7008 Alabaster

Walls that read cream: 7012 Creamy or 9180 Aged White
Coordinating Trim: 7008 Alabaster or 7566 Westhighland White

Walls that read a deeper neutral (but lighter than beige): 6147 Panda White or 6098 Pacer White

Add a surprise: I have neutral walls in my main living space with off-white trim, and I added a surprise by painting my doors a color. I used 7044 Amazing Gray, and in my home, it’s the perfect combo of beige and gray and keeps the look interesting. A lighter version to consider is 0050 Classic Light Buff.

Neutrals with a Whisper of Pale Blue

Let’s introduce neutrals with a pale blue accent for a gentle nod to the sea. This subtle touch evokes the calm of ocean waves on a tranquil day. I’m using a soft white color for a bright, airy look. The accent color is a soft blue-gray to make the home feel calm and ethereal. Using wallpapers in the Powder Room & Laundry will help break up all the white while maintaining a sense of airiness and delicacy.

Blue, Blue, and More Blue!

Now, let’s play with all the blues! Dark blues evoke the ocean’s depths, while light blues mirror the sky on a clear summer day. Pair these with crisp whites and a touch of tan for a fresh, airy feel.

Dark Blues: 6804 Dignity Blue 6510 Loyal Blue 7602 Indigo Batik

Light Blues: 9136 Lullaby 7661 Reflection 6497 Blue Horizon

Tans: 7527 Nantucket Dune 7533 Khaki Shade 9173 Shitake

Whites: 7004 Snowbound 7005 Pure White 7566 Westhighland White

Designer Tip: Many light blues resemble a baby nursery once painted on the wall. To avoid that, make sure your light blue has some gray.

Green-Gray with Pops of Deeper Colors

Want to make a statement? Dive into this palette of green-gray – this unexpected addition adds depth and a touch of nature’s elegance to your coastal retreat. Picture sea grass swaying in the breeze; add some deep blue and a splash of coral. This combination brings the mystery of the deep sea and the vibrancy of coastal life into your space.
